Lanette Bowcutt Honored at Convocation

At the LEISD Convocation on August 18, Lanette Bowcutt, a Lobo Band parent and band booster board member, was honored for her work with “Band-ing” Together for the Joplin High School Band.  Mrs. Bowcutt was the parent who started the relief efforts for all of us associated with the Little Elm High School Band.  Her “Band-ing” Together Facebook group has served as a channel to focus relief efforts for the Joplin Band program.  She has also raised funds through t-shirt and wristband sales throughout the country.  Lanette has also been featured on several news programs and will be included in the August 26, 2011, issue of People Magazine.

As a surprise, special guests that appeared to honor Mrs. Bowcutt and her efforts included:  Patti Nichols, Joan Phillips, and Carmen McIntyre Borup (Joplin Band moms) and Donnie Nelson (President of Basketball Operations for the Dallas Mavericks and owner of the Texas Legends.)

Thank you Mrs. Bowcutt for all your efforts to help the Joplin High School Band!  Your leadership in these efforts has brought out the best in all of us!
