Summer Band Camp, Week 3

We are two weeks into our Lobo Band Summer Band Camp and things are off to a great start for 2017-2018!  All band students are working diligently to improve on fundamental marching and playing.  This past Thursday, we also began work on our 2017 marching show, Connexus.  Going into the final week of camp, we know that the weather may play a factor in our plans, but there will be a back-up plan each day in the event it is needed.  Regardless, our camp will resume on Monday, August 7th and conclude this Friday, August 11th with our camp performance.  Here are a few things everyone needs to know about the remaining days of camp and the few days before school begins:

  1.  There is no morning rehearsal on Tuesday, August 8th.  That morning is Convocation for teachers and we will not begin rehearsal until 1:00 pm.  Rehearsal will end at the usual time of 4:00 pm.  All battery percussion will meet at LMS at 8:00 am and be transported to the Convocation, where they will perform at 9:30 am, then be taken back to LMS.  Battery percussion should wear khaki shorts, gray band t-shirt, with a brown belt and tennis shoes.
  2. There will be a camp performance at 6:00 pm on Friday, August 11th.  All parents will meet in the LMS Gym for a short performance/booster meeting, then go out to Marion Field for a marching performance.
  3. On Saturday, August 12th, there will be a Lobo Band social at Main Event in Frisco.  This will take place from 5:00-9:00 pm.  The cost of the event is $20 per person.  The last day to bring payment is on Thursday, August 10th.  Mr. Frizzell (LEBB President) will be at that rehearsal at 4:00 pm to collect any payments.
  4. After camp ends on Friday of this week, the next rehearsal for the Lobo Band will be from 5:00-8:00 pm at LEHS on Tuesday night, August 15th.

Should you have any questions regarding these events, please contact any director.  We are very excited about the 2017-2018 school year and look forward to hearing great things from our Lobo Band students this year!
